Walk 10- Peatling Road/Austrey Lane via Westdale Farm
round to Willoughby Road and back to Peatling Road
Approx 4 miles - (About 2 hours)
This is quite a nice walk along good bridle ways and raods.
There are two footpaths that merge to one, either from Main Street or walk past Dine India on the next bend out of the village, you will see a row of cottages. Walk along this track, which is Austrey Lane for about 1/4 mile.
The track continues along the edge of the fields until you reach Westdale Farm in front of you. If you go straight on, you can add another 1/2 mile loop to this walk (turn right after 1/4 mile), or walk to Peatling Magna (turn left instead of right) via Peatling Lodge Cottage and Farm (this add 1/2 mile to Peatling Magna plus it's approx 2 miles back to Countesthorpe).
For this walk turn right at Westdale Farm and climb the medium sloped path/track. You will come to Bambury Lane, which is is tarmac road. Turn right and follow the road for about 1/2 mile (beware of traffic, there is some farm traffic daily).

At the crossroads turn right to return to Countesthorpe along Willoughby Road.
To return to the start point walk for 1/2 mile past the playing fields on your right, past Stonecroft and turn right onto Station Road. walk all the way along this road. You will pass The Railway Pub, some shops, the library/village hall, until you see the King William and Chip Shop in front of you. Turn right at this junction, passed St Andrews Church and The Bulls Head and you are now back where you started.
