Walk 4 - Kilby Bridge to Foston
Approx 1 ½ miles - (About ¾ hour)
There is some side of road parking near the Navigation Public House (if you want to use their car park GET PERMISSION from the landlord!!).
Walk from Kilby Bridge south along Welford Road away from Wigston for approx
400 yards to the next bridge. The footpath is across the stile, marked with
a yellow marker, across the open field. The next marker is diagonally opposite.
Pause to view the open countryside. The walk continues straight across the
next large field, often ploughed or wheat. Look back for a view of Wigston.
The third field becomes a little unclear where to walk, but hug the edge to begin with and when the field opens into a much larger area, the path is straight across (you can just see the yellow marker straight ahead). Again this field can be ploughed or wheat dependant of time of year.
After approx 1 mile, you will cross the stile to Foston Lane near Foston. Turn right along the verge, but BE CAREFUL, this is a very busy stretch of open road and you need your wits about you!!
From here, Walk 5 takes you back to Countesthorpe or Walk 6 continues towards Peatling.
