The county council website has for a long time had excellent mapping on it. Have a look at these family friendly cycle trails around Leicestershire. None around the Countesthorpe area, but wonderful for days out (maybe someone will redevelop the old railway line one day???).

Many of you have asked if there is anything for sale to do with the village. I think there are a couple of books, but I'm not sure what they are called. I will look into that.
