I know it's the 13th November, apologies for such a late October bulletin...I have a number of excuses, most of them useless, so I won't bore you with them.....but to say I've got engaged and asked the father etc. (absolutely disgusted to find out most of my mates skipped the father bit!!!). Plans now ongoing for late next year....plenty of time!! :-()
Seeing as Councils are forever getting bad press, here's a month of good news only. These are some things that may (or may not) be useful to you:
If you ever go shopping by bus around the county, chances are (like me) you're never quite sure where a bus goes or when! This transport guide page give you all the information you need and you can print it off at home, thus avoiding missing the bus!! The Travelline link helps plan complicated journeys too.
While on buses, are you all aware of the Kids Go Free promotion on some services. The No. 45 services might be of interest.
Well the calendar looks good anyway, but if you feel a bit vulnerable or need some advice for an elderly friend, this calendar has information on:
To get a copy, you need to email adultsocialcare@leics.gov.uk or write to:
The Communications Team
Room 314
County Hall
Glenfield
Leicestershire LE3 8RA
They will need, your name, address, age and postcode. All personal information is destroyed on despatch of the calendar.
Endulge me if you will, this one has nothing to do with Countesthorpe!!
A friend of mines son, Jo is in a band called Love Caution. In the last couple of months they have been competing in the UK Battle of the Bands prestigous competition.
They won their heat, they came 4th in the southern region final and have just come 4th in the National competition!!
With a band average age of only 14, they were by far the youngest band playing.
Massive congratulations guys, good luck taking on the world....Kasabian are now worried!! Check 'em out
